The California Roadrunners came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil
the anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 9 to
7.

Superior was unable to overcome the big offensive rally by California in the
9th inning as they creamed Superior blasting them with 7 runs on 7 hits. The
crucial at-bat was provided by Rod Barajas who quieted the crowd when he
clubbed a three-run home run. California had 15 hits for the game and
Superior had 11.

Chan Ho Park(2-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Brandon Lyon preserved the game for Park, recording his his 26th. Sergio
Romo(2-3) was the loser in relief. He was unable to retire a batter allowing
3 hits and no walks.

Romo was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get away.
What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One minute
things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I get a
chance to redeem myself real soon!'

In a dramatic ending the Brooklyn Bulldogs staged a comeback and held on to
win over the Superior Blues by the count of 4 to 2.

Brooklyn scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring 4
runners on 3 hits. The highlight belonged to Brandon Inge who quieted the
home crowd when he laced a base-hit bringing home two baserunners. Neither
team was able to score until the 8th inning.

The victory went to Casey Coleman(1-5) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Coleman got relief help from John Axford who gained credit for his 14th
save. Brad Ziegler(5-3) ended up with the loss in relief.

Ziegler was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get
away. What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One
minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I
get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
