Javier Vazquez racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts and Edgar
Renteria had 3 base hits as the Superior Blues defeated the Boston Tea Party
by a score of 5 to 1 at SAFECO Field.
Vazquez(4-0) was in control of the game from the outset. He didn't give up
much, just 4 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings reducing his ERA from 2.48 to 2.27.
Overall Superior out-hit Boston 9 to 5.
Rafael Betancourt earned the save, his 5th. Brett Cecil(0-4) was charged with
the loss. Vazquez was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of
fun out there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We
got the victory and I'll sure take 10 strikeouts anytime!'
