Tony Gwynn Jr had 4 hits and Ervin Santana racked up an impressive total of 12
strikeouts as the Superior Blues bested the Boston Tea Party 5 to 2 at SAFECO
Field.
Santana(2-4) was very good in the win. He gave up just 3 hits and 1 walk in 8
innings lowering his ERA from 4.14 to 3.80. Andrew Bailey was perfect in
relief and got the save, his 3rd.
Jake Peavy(1-5) suffered the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 11 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Santana was jubilant in the
hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot
of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 12
strikeouts anytime!'
