Tommy Hanson went 7 strong innings and left fielder Jose Tabata had 4 hits and
2 RBI as the Superior Blues outscored the Brooklyn Bulldogs in 10 innings 5
to 4.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Finally, Superior pulled the
game out in the 10th inning. Evan Longoria drew a walk. Longoria took off
for second and slid in with a stolen base. After an out was recorded, Tabata
came up and he doubled making Superior the winners and sending the 41,292
fans home happy. Superior had a total of 9 hits for the game.
Brad Ziegler(5-2) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Jonathon
Niese(3-11) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 9 hits and 5 walks in 9 and
1/3 innings.
