WEB GEMS- Bot 7th: Asdrubal Cabrera robbed Dan Uggla of a base hit.
James Shields came through with a solid 9 innings and Miguel Cabrera had 2
base hits at SAFECO Field where the Fleetwood Walkers beat the Superior Blues
7 to 3.
Fleetwood had the game winning rally in the 8th inning when they scored 4 runs
on 5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Carlos Quentin who deflated
the spirits of the home town crowd when he doubled plating all three
baserunners. Fleetwood totaled 8 hits on the night.
Shields(1-0) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. The losing pitcher
was Sergio Romo(0-1) in relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 3
runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
