In an exciting finish the Superior Blues pulled out a win over the Cook County
Maulers by a score of 5 to 4 at SAFECO Field.
 
The game was decided in the 9th inning.  Edgar Renteria banged out a single.
Tim Hudson then let one slip out of his hand for a wild pitch.  Ryan Roberts
then laid down a sacrifice bunt.  After another out, Adam Lind came to bat
and was walked intentionally.  Cliff Pennington stepped into the box and
singled making Superior the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.
Superior finished with 8 hits in the victory.  
 
The victory was credited to Jeff Gray(1-1) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. The loss was charged to Hudson(10-4).  The Superior ballclub's record
now stands at 45-45.  Cook County can't seem to snap out of their recent
'funk'.  Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
